Disc Rotor’s

Disc-style brakes development and use began in England in the 1890s. The first caliper-type automobile disc brake was patented by Frederick William Lanchester in his Birmingham, UK factory in 1902 and used successfully on Lanchester cars. Disc brakes offer better stopping performance and brake feel to stop brake lock up.

A disc brake is a wheel brake which slows rotation of the wheel by the friction caused by pushing brake pads against a brake disc through a set of calipers. The brake disc usually made of cast iron, brakes convert motion to heat, and if the brakes get too hot, they become less effective, a phenomenon known as Brake Fade.

If a brake pad has below minimum material on it we can easily replace the pad. If the disc brake rotor surface is not true, we will measure the disc brake rotor thickness – if it is enough above minimum specification we will machine the disc rotors. If it is equal or below minimum specs we will replace the rotors with new ones. If your brake calipers are worn or sticky or you are having uneven wear on the brakes we can also overhaul or replace the brake caliper if needed. We will repack the wheel bearings if needed.

Once the brake repair is done we will bleed the brake system and make sure the brake fluid is at the correct level.
We use only quality parts (Bendix pads or OEM)on your vehicle. We can replace any damaged or worn parts. All work comes with a 12 month/20,000km Warranty.

Brake fluids must meet certain standards set by government, all brake fluid sold in Australia is classified by the (DOT) Department of transport under its own ratings such as DOT3, DOT4, DOT5.
Characteristics such as boiling point viscosity corrosion compressibility are important and that is why TT Auto Services use the best quality brake fluid

Moisture is the big enemy of brake fluid and that is why it has a 2 year 40,000km life

How to save fuel and make your brakes last longer around Perth

By being more aware of the way they drive, every individual can do their bit to conserve resources and protect the environment. With this is mind.
Avoid running the engine high when idling.
Rapid acceleration and changing up early has a positive effect on energy consumption.
Release the accelerator as soon as possible if the flow of traffic requires you to slow down.
Reduce rolling resistance by checking tyre pressure regularly.
Improve aerodynamics, for example by removing roof racks not in use.
Be careful to keep your revs down in city traffic.
Avoid carrying unnecessary weight in the car in city traffic.
Switch off the power consumers in your car as soon as you have stopped using them.
